The season started with disappointment for the Taunton Titans in what was always going to be a very tough match away to Loughborough Students.
The game was played at electric pace on the 4G pitch and the home team came out the blocks flying.
The Titans defence held out long phases of play and stopped a few tries being scored from all over the pitch. Our attack play was sharp but mistakes cost and we just could not bolt it all together. The home team scored some well worked tries first half.
Only a single penalty kick from out wide from Sinclair put us on the scoreboard but two held up tries showed we could be a threat close to the line.
Loughborough had all the momentum, any kick put through seemed to bounce into their hands and they never once dropped their work rate in defence, we never game up and attacked until the end.
It was a day of disappointment but with a few tweaks this can all be sorted, a long season is ahead and our first home game is looming which hopefully should kickstart our season.
