Christmas message from the President

Well here we are already half way through the season and it has flown by, the sunny warm September matches seem a long time ago.

The Titans have enjoyed some good form after a tricky start, away games to Loughborough and Camborne in the first month proved to be a challenge but the team have pulled together and are now sitting second in the league and undefeated at home so far, Toots has high standards and will want to carry this on. The win away at Hinckley was the last of the first round matches so we now have a bit of knowledge of what we are up against. Hornets will be tough test at the 'nest', they have been in good form lately and will want to give a big Christmas crowd a prezzie of a home win. It's a great away match to go to as its only up the M5 a few junctions and to lend your support to the Titans to finish the year with another away win.

The Warriors also are settling into a new league very nicely, some fine performances home and away put them third in a very competitive league, credit must go to Brett Harvey and John Wrelton who keep the Warriors ticking over week after week. It is also great to see a loyal band of supporters who turn up to cheer on the lads, it is very much appreciated.

The women's team are still progressing from their grass roots beginning, what a journey they have been on over the last few years. They are very lucky to have some real leaders in amongst them who keep driving the team on and a loyal coaching set up that work hard. We are also very lucky to have a fantastic group of up to 25 young girls that train at the club on a Monday night, ageing from 8-15 these youngsters are the future and hopefully some fixtures will soon come their way to get them on their Taunton RFC journey.

Our Junior section is amazing, we are the envy of many other clubs due to the constant high levels we achieve. This of course requires a huge army of volunteers that tirelessly turn out in all conditions to keep this going and to you all I can't thank you enough, from the rascals to the colts the pride the club has of our junior section is huge. Its great to see the junior players on a Titans match day in all their TRFC kit cheering the team on, more than once an away committee has commented to me how wonderful that must be for the club.

Our pre-match lunches have continued to be a superb way to get the match day experience going, the numbers have been building all season and look good going forward. A big thanks to Pat and Dario who run the show on a match day and to all the staff who help it to run smoothly.

We are fortunate to be supported by so many brilliant locals businesses and national firms through sponsorship and without their support we would be unable to maintain the level of rugby here at TRFC. It's great to see so many sponsors around the ground as well as joining us for matchday lunches. Our Thanks go to all of those that support us, we truly appreciate it.

Our ground staff, Julian Holloway and Andy Yabsley work miracles for the club, when other clubs have a duck pond for a pitch we enjoy a wonderful main pitch for the team to play on. On behalf of all at the club I would like to thank you guys for all your work.

Lastly I would just like to say thanks to all those that just do a little bit for the club that don't want any recognition, whether that's helping fix things that are broken or just picking up some rubbish off the floor and putting it in a bin to make the place look tidy or talking to away fans to make them feel welcome this is exactly what a club does and its great to see.

The 2025 season starts with an absolute banger at home to league leaders Camborne on the 11th January so we will need to be packed to the rafters for that one - there is even an 80's disco after for a bit of a new years party if you want to dance off some turkey, its also the official start to our 150 year celebrations.

So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year,
