We are delighted to welcome back JR Veterinary as a main sponsor for the 2023 / 24season. JR Veterinary are the first sponsor to commit to the new season and have also committed to a main sponsorship package. We will see them feature on the new Home and away kit next season as well as featuring around the ground and join us as a matchday sponsor for a National One fixture next season.

On agreeing the new deal Nick Mason the clubs Commercial coordinator said “It’s great to have JR Show there commitment for another season and as a main sponsor. The whole team at JR are so invested in TRFC and I’m looking forward to seeing them at Veritas Park next season.”

We asked a quick fire 10 questions to Janko Salzwedel who is the director of JR Veterinary so our supporters could get to know them a little bit better:

Who Are JR Veterinary and what do you do?

We are a family run Veterinary Recruitment agency based in Devon. We help Veterinary clients with their recruitment gaps (either locum or permanent roles), which helps Veterinary Professionals with their search for new roles.

Why have you chosen to support Taunton RFC as a main sponsor for the 2023/24 season?

Sport is a massive part of wellbeing. All sport clubs need support from local businesses to enable them to perform in the different leagues and therefore we are in a great position to sponsor and support Taunton RFC again this season.

Favourite Game you have been to?

Last game of the season was pretty special seeing Taunton RFC stay in National 1. All the JR staff were in attendance as well as some special guests and it was just a great day.

Favourite all time Titans player and why?

Only 1? We have so many! All for different reasons. It has to be Freddie Fraser and not just because he has ties to us. He is probably the most dedicated person I know, even during all his injuries he would still go and support the club as much as what he could to not let any of the players or coaches down. He has had some serious injuries but he still keeps showing up and being there which I think goes along way.

Best thing about a matchday at Veritas Park?

Matchdays are a great day out, if we are lucky enough to beat the pre match lunch the day starts a lot earlier and the food is amazing. When getting down to the nitty gritty of the rugby, you are never disappointed by the standard of games or the performance. Win or lose everyone is a little family.

Favourite Away game destination and why?

Again - only 1? Guernsey was a pretty special trip for us even though it was pre covid, most away trips Jane and I always make friends along the way, but Guernsey and Dorking are our favourites just because of all the fun we have pre/post games and the rugby game is pretty good as well😊

How long have you been involved supporting Taunton?

If you take Pre JR and when we set JR up it will be 9 years in February. That’s a lot of away games and travelling across the country.

Outside of JR and TRFC what do you get up to?

You mean we still have time outside of JR and TRFC? I play, umpire and coach netball so again very sporty and mostly spend time with family socialising or traveling - although this either happens out of rugby season or during the week as Jane (TRFC Club treasurer) won’t miss a rugby game or very rarely does. So our entire travelling scheduled works around Titans and their games.

Favourite Drink?

Depends on the season - usually wine or Fizz -

What are you most looking forward to next season?

Seeing the boys playing a good standard and enjoying themselves - at the end of the day we are all competitive but we need to ensure it is still a fun environment and the players are enjoying being out there.
