During the event, the Lord-Lieutenant presented Lord-Lieutenant’s Certificates for Meritorious Service to several individuals who have gone above and beyond in mentoring and supporting young people in the Cadet program. This recognition underscores the significant impact that dedicated adults have on the development of future leaders.
Additionally, local employers who provide vital support to Defence personnel, particularly Reservists, received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards. These accolades celebrate businesses that actively contribute to the welfare of their employees serving in the Armed Forces.
In his address, the Lord-Lieutenant praised all awardees, emphasising their invaluable contributions to both the military and the wider community.
As Somerset welcomes its new Lord-Lieutenant Cadets, the community can look forward to the positive impact these young leaders will undoubtedly bring in the year ahead.
