Friday 14th October Taunton ladies played their first development fixture away to Wiveliscombe ladies at plain ponds pitchunder lights. A very competitive game and great to watch. Wiveliscombe had 2full teams so we're able to field a full set of fresh players for the second half but the Taunton ladies showed true grit and kept themselves in thegame.

Both clubs played in the true spirit of development rugby and played with a few experienced players but mainly ladies having their first rugby experience. With a crowd of near 300 people watching the atmosphere was electric and both teams rose to the occasion and played some fantastic running rugby.

Final whistle score was 7 - 5 victory to Wiveliscombe, but the true victory was for ladies rugby in Somerset with over 50 players taking to the pitch 90% of them for their first game of contact rugby. And in true rugby tradition 2 teams getting together in the bar after sharing a few drinks not wanting the experience to end.
