Valued Volunteers at Taunton RFC

The last presentations of the season for our Volunteer Of The Month awards went to Chris Brown (Ladies & U16 Coach) awarded for March by John Wrelton and James Dean (U9’s & Girls Teams Coach)awarded by Sam Wallis for April!

Chris has been with the club for many years, coaching age grade rugby and for the past few years coaching our Ladies Team as well. Chris seems to always be at the club either coaching, watching the Titans or Warriors! We are sure he has a home other than Taunton RFC somewhere!

It has been great to see the Ladies back and enjoying training and playing some development games this past season. Chris promotes the ethos that it’s all about having fun and building the team, which the Ladies started off with a great tour to Malta, where Chris has connections from coaching as well. Our thanks to Chris for all his hard work this season and we hope he enjoys his Award for March Volunteer Of The Month!

James ‘Deano’ is a familiar face at Taunton RFC, being a former and veterans player. He now coaches the U9 ‘Thunders’ and has reintroduced the increasingly popular girls teams back to Taunton RFC as well. This season James and his Thunders team ran the successful U9’s Countywide Festival, where teams from across Somerset come and enjoy a day packed with rugby and this year even the England Captain Ellis Genge paid a visit to handout medals and awards to the extremely excited players! James is a deserved winner of our April Volunteer Of The Month!

HUGE thanks to Eighteen Gin for sponsoring our Volunteer Of The Month Awards this season!
